A Day to Remember: Fontwell Park Welcomes Around The Courses in 80 Days

What a day it was at Fontwell Park! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that made the entire experience unforgettable.

The staff at Fontwell Park went above and beyond to ensure that my visit was memorable. Colette, in particular, was incredibly accommodating, introducing me to the team and ensuring that I felt welcomed from the start. Special mentions also go out to Guy and Barbara, who made sure I was well taken care of throughout the day.

Before the racing began, I had the opportunity to walk the course alongside Phil, the Clerk of the Course. The unique figure-of-eight layout added to the excitement of the day, and everything was set for a fantastic day of racing.

Throughout the afternoon, Colette made sure I was looked after with a constant supply of food and drinks—a level of hospitality that truly stood out. It kept my energy levels up for what turned out to be a busy and exhilarating day.

One of the highlights of the day was being invited to choose the best turned-out horse in the opening race and present the prize to the winning owners of All Authorised, Mr. Steven Packham, and trainer Gary Moore. It was an honor to be part of such a special moment, especially considering the significance of the colors—those same colors famous for Goshen, a horse I deeply admire.

The atmosphere at Fontwell Park was nothing short of electric, especially with the spring sunshine adding to the ambiance. I had the pleasure of chatting with so many wonderful people throughout the day.

I even had the unexpected delight of bumping into a former work colleague, Blaise Cook, whom I shared some memorable hours with in the Ladbrokes office in Gibraltar.

The generosity and support shown by Fontwell Park towards my charity challenge for Dementia UK was truly heartwarming. In fact, today's collection of £551.17 marks the highest amount raised in a single day at the courses so far, placing Fontwell at the top of the order of merit.

As I reflect on the day's events, I'm filled with gratitude for the warm welcome and overwhelming support received. With online donations still pouring in, I'm excited to see how much more we can achieve together. So please feel free to donate straight to Dementia UK through my Just Giving page here:

Tomorrow, I'll be heading to Brighton for their opening meeting of the year—a prospect that fills me with anticipation. Here's hoping for another fantastic day and a step closer to reaching our fundraising goal.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far, and remember to share the blog because, as always...

"Together We Can Make A Difference."

Warm regards,

Graham Arnold
