Leg 18: Racing Forward for Dementia UK at Catterick

Hey everyone! Another day, another leg of my charity challenge for Dementia UK. Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Catterick for leg 18 of my 80-day journey around the courses, and what a lovely day it was!

First things first, let's talk about the weather. It was actually warm and it was a delight to have some heat hitting my body whilst enjoying the walk around the course prior to racing, a welcome change from the recent chillier days. A perfect start to a day at the races!

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the general manager, Emma Stevenson, and her team at Catterick. I'm incredibly grateful for their kindness and support

Despite the glorious weather, I have to admit that the crowd turnout was slightly disappointing. Nevertheless, I soldiered on with my bucket collection, and I'm thrilled to announce that I managed to raise £112.46 today! This brings my total raised so far to an impressive £4,756. Every penny counts, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed.

A special shoutout to Stuart Lewis, Andrew Cowan, and Peter Robinson from Purple Reins Racing who were there to show their support. Your presence means the world to me, and I'm so grateful to have you by my side on this journey.

As I continue my adventure through Yorkshire, tomorrow marks my first visit to Pontefract. Here's hoping that the Yorkshire crowd can help me push beyond the £5,000 mark in my fundraising efforts. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

On a personal note, while I'm finding this challenge both tiring and enjoyable, I have to admit that I'm missing home cooking terribly. I can't even remember the last time I ate a vegetable!

But hey, sacrifices must be made for a good cause, right?

For those who couldn't make it to Catterick but still want to support the cause, remember that online donations can be made through my Just Giving page. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to my goal. Click this link to be taken straight to the Just Giving page:

Thank you all for your continued support, and here's to many more successful legs ahead as I still have 41 to do!
